People of Walmart
I don't know why it's taken me so long to find this glorious photo blog! It's called "People of Walmart." If you can't figure out what it's about from the title, well, then you yourself may end up featured in a photo.
Check it out here! Pretty funny. A few favorites below...

Power Rangers!!!

I'm not the only one who used to watch Power Rangers, and I know that for a fact. Remember that show? It was pretty awesome.
IceIceBabies has provided a handy list of the original Power Rangers and what has become of them. Check it out!
I am about to admit something that few have heard. When I was a strange little boy in elementary school, I pretended to have an all-powerful master who controlled my mind (at least during recess). Yes, I was made fun of quite a bit. Anyhow, my master's name was Zor, and I think he was a descendent of Zordon, the master of the Power Rangers. Sad, yes, but true.

OMG amazing!!!
It's finally here--The Musical Theatre Dictionary... It answers all of your MT questions. A few of my favorites:
2. I will do whatever it takes to be a fiercey, even if that means singing soprano.
Belting and Bleeding- verb- When a person's belt is so high and loud that it sounds painful but is executed with completely healthy vocal production. Although a somewhat misleading name, belting and bleeding is often desired for powerful vocals. See Marla Mindelle/Kate Pazakis.
1. As obsessed as I am with Power Mixers, I still die for belting and bleeding.
2. If this girl playing Eva Peron isn't belting and bleeding, I'm leaving during intermish.
1. As obsessed as I am with Power Mixers, I still die for belting and bleeding.
2. If this girl playing Eva Peron isn't belting and bleeding, I'm leaving during intermish.
"Effie We All Got Pain"-saying- Response to a costar when he/she is throwing tons of diva comments your way. A reference to the musical Dreamgirls when Effie White's laundry-lists of excuses are met with this statement. The point being: you have struggles, so do we.
Diva: My Laduca Strap broke, I'm not warm yet, and if they make me wear this bullshit costume I'm going to flip.
Smart Actor: Effie, we all got pain.

Fiercey- noun- The embodiment of ferocity.
1. Caissie Levy is such the new fiercey of Broadway.2. I will do whatever it takes to be a fiercey, even if that means singing soprano.
Pingy- adjective- The fantastic result of ultra-forward mask placement. The term is derived from the resonant sound and sped of a person's vibrato. Imagine a pinball being tossed around a pinball machine at fast pace: that's pingy. (We get extra points for making you want to listen to Tommy)
Her belt is so pingy, her placement can cut diamonds.
Her belt is so pingy, her placement can cut diamonds.
Whistle Tone-verb- The rare gift of singing notes above the soprano high C. This random-act-of-fierceness is almost always an expensive way of showcasing one's self. Whistle tones are almost always described as savage.
MT: I cannot believe his savage whistle tones. He got those notes past a G7.
Work!-compliment- This is a phrase used as a compliment shouted during/after a performance (preferably in a cabaret setting.) This phrase, borrowed from the Fashion World, is a truncated version of the phrase "You Better Work!" Literally meaning "do work" or "you are working the hell out of this song", this phrase carries a certain weight of tranny sass.
Gay MT Boy: Soooo fi-yerce! WORK!

What your facial hair says about you...

I have to be clean shaven for work, but when I didn't, I'd grow a beard for a week or two and then keep it trimmed and looking neat. This little site got it right, because my facial hair likes are about the only thing I have in common with (former Crush of the Day) Jason Statham.
Anyhow, if you've ever wondered what men think about their own facial hair, or what it means about them, check out What Your Facial Hair Really Says About You.

Funny Blog: Texts From Last Night
Who hasn't sent a regrettable text during a night of overindulgence? I have done it too many times to mention... Here are a few other examples of inappropriate, funny, embarrassing, or otherwise strange texts people have sent, via a funny blog called textsfromlastnight.com.
(613): His facebook profile says he's interested in men, but i'm choosing to ignore that
(I think I've been the victim of that girl before...)
(208): I woke up this morning to the buzzer on my oven going off... I cooked fish sticks at 425 degrees for 5 hours last night. my house smells awesome
(Never done this with fish sticks, but definitely had some burned pizzas...)
(410): can you sing with all the voices of the mountain? can you paint with al the colors of the windddd
(443): wasted?
(410): im pocohantasssss
(Hahaha I honestly think I have sent this series of texts before!)
(415): I've decided that I only have enough money to either eat or drink over the next month. I'm sure you know what choice I've made.
(Obviously.)

Funny Blog Alert: Awkward Family Photos
Remember when you were a kid and your parents made you get family portraits taken, either for posterity's sake or for a holiday greeting? Or maybe you are still forced to do this archaic activity like I am? I remember one particular Christmas card photo of me and my family; it was taken in front of the fireplace of our new cottage in Michigan, and we were all wearing these amazing colored shirts and jeans. My mom's outfit was the best: a black turtleneck with a blazer made up of large pieces of neon pink, yellow, green, and orange fabric. Amazing.

Anyhow, there's a funny blog that is compiling these truly awkward photos. Check out a few gems below...

How much sugar do YOU consume each day?
Here's an interesting and informative new blog: SugarStacks. The authors take a look at some of the foods we eat and show us in simple, graphic terms how much sugar is in them.
It makes me happy that I don't eat that much ice cream...

A great new blog!

It's called Hot Guys In Flu Masks. I think it's so perfect for all that is going on the world right now.
Oddly enough, I just posted a pic in a recent entry of the guy who this blogger began his blog with! We both have good taste, I suppose. He has been featured on CNN, Google, etc. in recent days as the first confirmed case of swine flu in Spain (I think).

Why the *$ do you have a kid?
This little blog asks the above question along with some confusing, scary, disturbing, funny, and strange photos of people with child (or with a child).

I hope I don't end up on a site like this someday... Check out this pic of my niece and me and decide for yourself.

The best abs in Hollywood?
Someone compiled a list of the best abs in Hollywood, and I don't quite get the punchline... Do you?
Ryan Reynolds is my number one, at least from the list they provided.

YUM Sandwiches.

What a great blog! It's purely scans of delicious sandwiches, and I'm guessing it's in the NYC area, but I don't actually know. All I really know is that I'd bite into any of these sammys right about now...
Speaking of good sandwiches, here's one of my favorites:
Ingredients:
whole wheat bread
sliced roasted turkey breast
muenster cheese
fresh spinach
herb mayonnaise
Method:
Butter the outsides of two slices of whole wheat bread.
Spread the insides of the bread with an herbed mayo (rosemary, basil, etc.).
Layer sliced turkey, muenster cheese, and fresh spinach.
Build the sandwich cold, then transfer it to a pre-heated frying pan, griddle, or flat top grill.
Grill over medium heat until both sides are golden brown.
MMM!!!

Mmmm... Cheeseburgers...
If I were to ever go vegetarian, which is highly unlikely, the thing I'd miss most, even more than a Rutherford Ribeye, would be a cheeseburger. Mmm.

There's a blog (well, there are probably a few, but I like this one quite a bit) dedicated to cheeseburgers. Check it out! It's mostly reviews of burger joints in the Toronto area, but there are some super delicious looking burgers.
With that in mind, I thought I'd share one of my favorite burger recipes. It's been a favorite at TLYCC for years, and, well, it's DUL.
ground beef (I prefer chuck or round)
Lawry's seasoned salt
Worchestershire sauce
black pepper
Combine the above ingredients and form them into patties. Basically, season to taste.
Then, the fun begins. Grill the burger to medium-rare and melt cheddar cheese on top. On a toasted bun, put a light layer of mayo to keep the bun from getting soggy. Add the burger, top with bacon, maybe more cheese, and two thick-cut onion rings. Drizzle BBQ sauce and ranch dressing on top.
YUM-O, right?
